We're still making art for the Tome of Beasts tokens. We're on track and the tokens are looking fantastic. We'll share more previews in the near future, but for now, heads are down, drawing.

BackerKit Survey Smoke Test + What’s Next For Splattered Ink?

I hope you're staying warm. We're looking at a full week of school cancellation here in the midwest. It's cold, but I do love snow. I know. I'm a bit off my rocker - but being off your rocker is inevitable for most of us. Enough rambling -
Let's do a tldr: BackerKit launches today! Learn how BackerKit surveys work below. Take this survey to tell me what to make next!

As previously discussed, your pledge and shipping details will be managed through BackerKit. I've built the survey and run a few tests, but there are a lot of backers and items to coordinate. To ensure there are no mistakes in the setup, BackerKit sends a smoke test before sending the survey to all backers. This test is sent to just 5% of backers. If you are one of the lucky backers to receive a smoke test, expect to see it in the next couple of days.
Smoke tests are extremely valuable. They help us track all possible combinations of sets and add-ons to ensure nothing goes awry.
Once the smoke test finishes...
I will send out the rest of the surveys to everyone after I receive responses to most of the smoke test surveys. I expect this process to take about a week so the backers have time to fill out the smoke test and then for us to review them.
Once I do send out the actual surveys, not all are sent from BackerKit as soon as I hit "send." Depending on the number of backers, they may be staggered. Therefore, it may take a little more time for surveys to reach everyone. Please wait a few days to ensure BackerKit has had ample time to send them all. If you don’t receive your survey immediately, that’s completely normal! Thank you for your patience!
When you receive your survey, I ask that you complete it as soon as possible so I can make our orders with the production facility. The longer this step takes, the longer I have to wait for the product! I'm looking to get 90% of the surveys filled before production starts so I can ensure I have enough for everyone.
BackerKit Survey Guide
Once BackerKit sends you an email for the survey, the email will have a link. Click the link. That will take you to your unique survey in BackerKit's system, where you can increase your pledge level and purchase add-ons.
1) Select your country for shipping and click "Get Started". If you would like to upgrade to a higher pledge tier, locate the link under the "Get Started" button and click that instead. Please note that if you switch pledge levels, add-ons selected on Kickstarter will not be automatically applied to BackerKit. You will have the option to add those add-ons back later in the survey process.
2) Please read and answer the question prompts and proceed into the BackerKit "store" (Add-Ons section). These questions will either provide additional information about your pledge or remind you of important information.
2.5) If the pledge tier you've chosen allows you to select packs, those packs will be selected in these questions.
3) Once in the store, you’ll see a list of the items included in your Kickstarter pledge to the right of the page. (Your items will look different if you've changed your pledge or upgraded it from the survey. Not to worry, you have the chance to add the add-ons you want here.) On the left, you’ll see the options for add-ons.
4) Once you've selected all the items you want, click "Next".
5) Enter your shipping address and click "Next".
6) Confirm the provided information is correct, pay for extra add-ons or the upgraded pledge level and click "Confirm".
7) You will see a confirmation email once you have completed the survey!
Surveys and addresses will be locked closer to fulfillment so you’ll be able to make changes even after submitting your survey until I let you know otherwise! Payment for outstanding balances will be collected at a later date.
When the surveys go out, I ask that you complete them as soon as possible so I have the most accurate numbers for the production facility. The longer this step takes the longer I have to wait for the product! I want to get 90% of the surveys filled before production starts.
Commonly Asked Questions on BackerKit Surveys
Can I upgrade my pledge through the survey?
Yes! When you get your survey hit the button below "Get Started". This will enable you to up your pledge tier in case you've decided you want a different deal!
My payment didn’t go through and I was dropped from the Kickstarter. What can I do?
Don’t panic! You can make a late pledge through our BackerKit store.
Common reasons why your survey may not have reached you!
BackerKit's email sending procedure is staggered. Please wait a few days to ensure BackerKit has had ample time to send them all.
1) Confirm the email address you used to pledge on Kickstarter! Your survey will be emailed to that address. If you used a private relay Apple ID to pledge on Kickstarter, you'll need to contact the support team to update your email address with BackerKit.
Please be sure to include your Apple ID email or, failing that, the name associated with your Kickstarter account in your message to BackerKit support.
2) Double-check your junk/spam folder. Sometimes the filters sweep up our precious survey emails. 😠
If after completing all of these steps you're still unable to locate your survey and you’ve waited a few days for it to come in, reach out to support at [email protected] or ask us in our Discord!

It's that time of year again. Time for holiday celebrations and the transition to a new year.
2025 has been amazing, much like a rollercoaster. The ups have been so high, yet for many of us, we're ready to get off after one corkscrew too many.
My wish for each of you is a wonderful 2026. A time of peace and prosperity. A time to rest and time to work. A time when your voice rings true and speaks from your heart.

Coming in January: The Backerkit Survey
What is Backerkit? BackerKit is the pledge management tool we'll use to distribute digital rewards, collect your shipping details, and finalize counts for manufacturing. It is where creators and backers can manage relevant information pertaining to a crowdfunding campaign, in this case, RPG Essentials 2!
You will be able to upgrade or add to your pledge, submit support requests, manage your shipping address, and pay for shipping. We will use Backerkit to distribute digital rewards, collect your shipping details, and finalize a count for all the items being made and distributed to our backers. This ensures we place informed orders with our manufacturer.
Beginning in January, you will get an email from Backerkit called the backer survey. This will guide you through the process of finalizing your pledge. For many of you, this will be as simple as reviewing and confirming what you ordered, then entering your shipping address. Easy-peasy. Others will take this opportunity to add additional items or upgrade your pledge. It's entirely up to you.
We will keep your pledge and survey open for a few months. However, when we send surveys it's important to complete them as soon as possible so that we can begin to finalize item counts.

We did it. YOU did it.
2184%+ funded. 50 unlocked tokens!
Every roll mattered! Every spell slot consumed! There were some tense moments — a few death saves. But the party held together, and we made it through the abyss with the treasure in hand.
The campaign is over, the dice have landed, and the Void Dragon is defeated!
And that's because of YOU.
Every pledge was a hit. Every share was a bardic inspiration. Every comment hyping your favorite monster pack was a rallying cry that kept the party moving forward. You showed up when it mattered.
So from my family and I, from Altair, and all of the Splattered Ink Games team — thank you.
So what happens now?
The campaign was the boss fight. Now comes the long rest — and then the real work begins. We're finalizing production files, coordinating with manufacturers, and making sure every single token lives up to the quality you deserve. We'll keep you updated every step of the way — no radio silence here.
Expect an update with Backerkit pledge manager details in two weeks and the first production update in January.
